The Skrabl organ in the Abbey of the Genesee, New York

Looking back 10 years, Skrabl built an organ for – interesting thought – an order of Trappist monks in an abbey in New York.

The Abbey of the Genesee is home to 24 contemplative monks and the eight-stop instrument was designed, in collaboration with the Abbot, to accompany the liturgy.

The opening recital was given by Ben Saunders, director of music in the Diocese of Leeds.

Manual I: Principal 8', Cevna flavta 8', Principal 4'

Manual II: Gedeckt, Gamsov rog 8', Cevna flatva 4'

Pedal: Subbas 16', Bordon 8'.
