Four recitals on the Lyme Regis Skrabl in the Young Professionals series

With apt timing, Alex Davies will perform Messiaen's L'Ascension on the Skrabl in organ St Michael's, Lyme Regis, on Thursday this week – Ascension Day.

Other coming events arranged by the South Wessex Organists' Society include a 'reluctant organists workshop' at the end of this month in Sidmouth, and recitals in May by Charles Maxtone-Smith, of Buckfast Abbey, and in June by Michael D'Avanzo, organ scholar at Exeter Cathedral.

The South Wessex Society is known for the imagination and reach of its programmes and other recitals in its Young Professionals series take place in September by Oriel Chapman of St Andrew’s Colyton, and in October by Joshua Simões of the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court.
